With this legacy in mind, The Peninsula Hotel Hong Kong invited us to embark on a unique project—one that would pull back the curtain and allow viewers a rare look at the daily protocols and routines of the hotel’s health and hygiene team. In the modern age, where guests are ever more conscious of wellbeing and safety, such transparency is both timely and vital. Our mission was to capture not only the meticulous procedures that safeguard each guest’s experience, but also the spirit of dedication and care that infuses every action the team takes.
The task was clear: document the regular protocol of the health and hygiene team at The Peninsula, illuminating the careful steps taken every day to protect guests and ensure their peace of mind. The challenge was to convey both the technical rigor and the human warmth that define their approach. We aimed to show the audience not just the “what” and the “how,” but the “why”—the deep sense of responsibility and pride that motivates each team member to maintain the hotel’s storied reputation.
To bring this vision to life, our production team spent a full day on location, observing and recording the intricate choreography of cleanliness and care that unfolds behind the scenes. Although the scope of this project was more intimate than our previous collaborations—working with a smaller production crew and pared-down equipment—we were determined to capture every nuance. The result is a visually captivating, cinematic experience that invites viewers to walk a mile in the shoes of the hotel’s health and hygiene manager.
The film follows a typical day, from the early-morning inspections and thorough sanitization of guest areas, to the detailed record-keeping and liaison with other hotel departments. You see the care with which surfaces are cleaned, the rigorous adherence to protocols, and the moments of quiet pride as the team surveys a job well done. Interwoven with these scenes are glimpses of the team’s camaraderie and teamwork, the silent signals and shared smiles that speak to a deep sense of purpose.
