Using the world of food and HSBC’s wider culinary platform, HSBC LiFE wanted to create a social media campaign to convey their unique POV and thought leadership in the health and wellbeing space, with a special emphasis on how food brings people together across borders, cultures, families and communities.
The video needed to showcase their belief that food opens up a world of opportunity and that no matter where life takes us, food is always a connector: What better way to get to know colleagues in a new job than to have lunch together? Or to find like-minded people with similar interests in a city you’ve just landed in than by heading to a food-based networking event?
Food also creates memories; the aromas and tastes conjuring those from childhood or special occasions, as well as new ones discovered on travels or in places anew we’re taken to by friends.
By sitting around a table – whether at home with family or dining out with friends or colleagues – sharing food brings us a sense of belonging and connection, which in turn affects our happiness and wellbeing.
To demonstrate all of this, Lime* filmed three influencers from three different cities – a blah blah from Guanzhou, an Olympic swimmer that represents Hong Kong and a food writer based in Singapore – cooking food while sharing their perspectives on food and wellness.
Each influencer selected a meaningful dish to make and discussed their personal philosophy on maintaining a healthy mind and body.
The two-day shoot took place in Hong Kong, where we found these fantastic kitchen studios to film two of our influencers (the Singapore food writer was shot separately in Singapore). We had a food stylist join us to ensure all the food was on point, but these guys actually cooked their own dishes from scratch without any help. And they were pretty tasty!
